The Game Ahead privacy notice
Updated 24 September 2026 · thegameahead.co.uk
Who is responsible
The Game Ahead is operated by Lavender Analytics Limited, which is responsible for the personal information it uses to operate the service. Contact us at lavenderanalyticstdh@gmail.com about privacy, your choices or a request concerning your information.
Analytics are optional
You do not need to provide an email address or agree to analytics to use The Game Ahead. With your consent, we measure feature use, performance and return visits to improve the service. Before you allow analytics, we do not store analytics identifiers or send optional analytics events.
After you allow analytics, a random identifier in your browser recognises return visits and a separate session identifier groups activity into visits. These are pseudonymous identifiers, not your name or email address. They use browser storage rather than analytics cookies. We do not combine them with your sign-in identity or use them for cross-site advertising.
Events may record visits, fixture opens, tabs, date and competition filters, whether search was used, active engagement, return visits, page performance and generic errors. They may include a broad device type, country supplied by the hosting platform, a source category and the traffic-test campaign label. Search text, full page or referring addresses, detailed error messages and error stacks are excluded from these events.
Your choice
Choose Decline analytics to continue without optional tracking. Use the Help improve The Game Ahead? link to change your decision at any time. Withdrawal stops future optional collection, removes this browser’s analytics identifiers and discards queued events. It does not automatically erase events already received by the server. Contact us about those records; because we do not collect your identity with analytics, we may need information that lets us locate them.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control suppress optional analytics. Choices apply separately to each browser or device. Blocking browser storage may prevent us from remembering your choice.
Retention
Your choice and visitor identifier expire after 30 days. Sessions expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. Expired browser entries are no longer used and are replaced or removed when the site next checks them. You can remove them earlier through the Help improve The Game Ahead? link or your browser settings.
Analytics events become eligible for deletion after 30 days; application request summaries after seven days. Cleanup runs in limited batches during application activity and when an authorised operational check is made. Service interruptions or a backlog can delay removal. Expired events are excluded from normal reporting. Hosting recovery copies and provider security logs have separate retention arrangements: deletion of a live event does not instantly remove a recovery copy.
Essential operation and security
The service processes connection information to respond and limit abuse even when analytics are declined. Our application derives a daily changing rate-limit identifier from the address supplied by the hosting platform, rather than storing the raw address in analytics or rate-limit keys. It also keeps aggregate request counts, status codes, response times and safe error categories. We use these for our legitimate interest in protecting the service and keeping it available.
Supporting services
Cloudflare hosts thegameahead.co.uk and stores application security records and optional analytics in D1. Google provides our contact mailbox. Supabase provides the football publication; optional browser analytics are stored separately and are not sent to Supabase. GitHub stores development code and supports development workflows. The separate owner preview is not the hosting service for thegameahead.co.uk.
Providers may process information outside the UK. The D1 database selected for application security records and optional analytics is configured with Cloudflare’s EU jurisdiction restriction. This does not restrict all website requests, provider logs or support processing to the EU, and we do not promise UK-only processing. Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum describes its processor obligations and transfer safeguards. Its privacy policy describes its own processing. Contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your information.
Correspondence and rights
If you email us, we receive your address and message so we can respond. Please avoid unnecessary sensitive information. We keep correspondence while needed to handle the enquiry and any related dispute or legal obligation. It is not used to identify your browsing activity for marketing.
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use, object to processing or receive information you supplied in a portable form. You can withdraw analytics consent without affecting earlier processing. Contact us at the address above. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
We will update this notice if our processing changes. A materially different analytics purpose will require a new choice.
